Legally Blonde Tour 2012

Oh My God You Guys…Legally Blonde Is Coming To Norwich

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL

The smash-hit multi-award-winning musical based on a Hollywood hit is heading to Norwich.

All-singing, all-dancing comedy hit Legally Blonde The Musical takes to the Theatre Royal stage on February 28-March 10 fresh from huge success in the West End.

It follows the story of Elle Woods who is dumped by her boyfriend Warner and decides to win him back. She follows him to Harvard Law School and – with the help of her new friends Paulette, Emmett and chihuahua Bruiser – sets out to win him back.

The show features a host of feelgood songs and spectacular dance numbers, and is based on the smash-hit film which starred Reese Witherspoon.

The stage production features an all-star cast with the lead role of Elle being taken by Faye Brookes, who made her West End debut in Grease and has appeared in a wide range of other shows including Anyone Can Whistle and The Little Match Girl.

Legally Blonde The Musical also sees the welcome return to Norwich of Les Dennis, who plays Professor Callaghan. A seasoned stage and TV performer, Les last appeared in Norwich in Eurobeat, the show which paid tribute to the Eurovision Song Contest. The former North Norfolk resident is probably best known for hosting TV’s Family Fortunes but also enjoys a busy stage career having appeared in a range of shows including Hairspray, Chicago, and Me and My Girl in the West End, and When We Are Married and High School Musical 2 on tour.

Meanwhile former Dancing On Ice winner Ray Quinn takes on the role of Elle’s love interest Warner. He began his performing career in hit Channel Four soap Brookside playing Anthony Murray gaining a host of awards for his portrayal. He then finished as runner-up to Leona Lewis in the 2006 run of The X Factor leading to a number one platinum selling album and a sell-out tour before winning more prime-time TV exposure three years later with Dancing On Ice, which also included a follow-up arena tour. He is also no stranger to successful stage work with appearances in Dirty Dancing, Grease and Me And My Girl in the West End.

And X Factor success story Niki Evans takes on the role of Paulette. She first started singing at the age of 13 and ended up working for record label PWL working with the likes of Sonia, Lonnie Gordon and Big Fun. Niki then took a break from the music industry to get married and raise two children before auditioning for X Factor in 2007 and making it through to the semi-final. Since then, she has had a successful album and also won critical acclaim for her role in Blood Brothers.

The show also has a strong behind-the-scenes team and is directed by the Tony and Olivier Award-winning Jerry Mitchell, who has worked on a range of musicals including choreographing the original West End and Broadway run of Hairspray.
